Registrations for this course are closed.

A Learn to Sail class for adults with little to no experience, held in Pacer Dinghies with your teacher in the boat with you and another student. Students must be able to swim 25 metres unassisted. PFDs/Life Jackets are provided. We will be getting wet so a wet suit, warm thermals and spray jacket are advised!

This course will be run on Monday afternoons from 5-7pm, except for 10th of Feb which is a Tuesday due to the regatta day long weekend. The first session will be a theory session in the classroom and in the boats but not on the water.

On completion of the course, there will be an opportunity to join in with social sailing currently also held on a Monday evening between 5-7pm.

Cost is $380 per person 


Course Overview

This course introduces participants to dinghy sailing and its fundamental skills so they learn terminology and equipment and practice launching and returning to shore and capsize recovery. 

Course Prerequisites

Water confident.

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who wish to begin sailing in a dinghy. All the equipment and gear will be provided by your accredited Discover Sailing Centre.

Course Outcome

You will gain your Start Sailing 1 completion certificate.
